With the higher flows, nymphing has still been producing the most fish. Running a worm pattern or bigger sowbug (#14-16) with either a Skinny Nelson #18-20 or a FB Ray #18-20 in pink or grey has been a great setup.  Many fish are hanging tight to the bank, precise casting to those little pockets along the banks almost guarantees fish.  But don’t overlook the hard water; with the water temp constantly climbing, the fish will surprise you in how hard of water they will hold in.

We have been seeing midges and BWO’s in the late afternoons and evenings, though not many pods of fish feeding on them yet. The streamer bite has still been solid, white being the best color for the last few weeks. Try running a white pattern in a #6-8 with and olive bugger #6-8 trailing behind it. If you like fishing bigger streamer patterns, the Jointed Urchin White #2 and Sex Dungeons #2 in white or Olive have been fishing well.

Don’t be afraid to go play up on Yellowtail either, Smallmouth are chasing shiners and the cicadas are buzzing if you want to throw dries for carp.
