Streamers

Olive and white in size #4-6 with a slow retrieve

Last Friday, Ian and myself (Brady) took an Afterbay to Bighorn float primarily focused on fishing streamers. The rainy, overcast conditions made for a perfect streamer day. What didn’t make for a perfect streamer day was that apparently, Ian and I had a substantial amount of rust to knock off from the winter. Through hooking each other, objects in the boat, and countless trees and shrubs along the banks of the Bighorn, we managed to put quite a few fish in the boat. Once we actually managed to get our bugs out of trees and into the river, the key was not so much size and color, but rather the speed of the retrieve. Slow, almost at a dead drift, was getting eats.  The higher flows on the Bighorn have been producing some great streamer days. Key in on the overcast days and target the banks and slack water.
